That's cool JRK. Just went through that very same thing not moren a month ago. Went to 6" risers and 21" apes. Most people dont really realize how much work goes into it and the final cost of doing such a project until they do it themselves. It's not just changing bars, but adding wiring extensions, clutch & throttle cables, new front brake lines if you have them. And if you go too tall, repositioning front directionals becomes necesary as well. Then ya have to test hard left & right turns for clutch cable play and throttle tensioning, cause finding out you have a problem at the wrong time is not very fun and usually will cause some embarrassment and some sort of financial loss. LOL (Trust me on this!!)

Looks like ya did a jam up job there JRK. Oh yea, did they offer ya a free swing set with them monkey bars?? LMAO!

Havin the throttle cable just a smidge tight caused my bro. his life, he had repositioned them that afternoon, said he'd had them like that forever. 1am he makes a u-turn with my sister on the pillon & it takes off, hits a curb, flips over throwing her off & comin back down on him, slams tthe curb breakin his back & erupting in flames. They pulled his leg off tryin to drag him out. ,,,,,,,,So, yes kids, do be careful when you're makin changes, some things are best left to those that know.

Hope I'm not a headline !!!

ya know i gotta say a few kind words about this guy paul yaffe.

i've never met him but have seen him on a few biker build off tv shows and from a distance at a rally and then in the bike mags.

he is a class act though.

when the bars were first ordered they went on back order for a bit. i guess they are in demand and since made by hand it takes a while.

during that time shari called them and both times paul himself answered the phone and helped out.

Even letting her know when the shipping would take place since thats when they charge your card # for the shipping fee.

then last week i thought for the heck of it i would send some of the finsihed pics to yaffe's customer service and give a compliment to their workmanship.

the very next morning i got an email back from paul yaffe saying the bike looks awesome and thanks for choosing his design.

i have no idea how big of an operation he runs but it's cool to see he is so involved and i may just have to buy him a beer if i ever get to AZ again.

Surprised he still had a phone....   But anyway, I really do like the bars...Too Kool.... Reno

not really a fan of those bars , but I have to admit they look damn good on that STD, almost takes the Geezer out of that Glide. Great story ( the kind I like). The story goes if it feels faster , it is.
