YOU.. are brotherhood to me Spark!...Quite a lot of the brothers here at the funhouse give me the warm feelings of brotherhood! (you know who you all are!) Riding together, sharing without expectations, loving and living together and just evolving with each other in this thing we call life!..Thats brotherhood to me! Someone who'll do anything for you without question...someone who is there for you and you for them..no matter the situation! Brotherhood!

We lost my oldest birth brother on July 14th 06 to leukemia and a huge part of me, felt very lost!..I especially hurt deeper for my other brother because he lost his only birth brother and they were very close! Did everything together, fishing, drink'n, ride'n club'n and yes they even shared a few honeys so Im told.. and oooh yeah..they fought like a dick'ns over a lot of bullshit but they always managed to somehow make peace with one another. I still have My brother back home, who I respect more than any man I've ever known (no secret there)  and that brother showed me so many things and taught me much about respect, and brotherhood. Show me a brother who wants to argue that fact and I'll straight up kick his fuck'n ass right in front of his brothers!

I only hope that I make him proud to call me his sister and hope to do the same to all my brothers that Ive grown to know and love that are not my birth brothers..but are still held with the utmost respect by me! Ok nuff mushy shit..lets party mother fuckers!! lmfao!!!

lol..yep! if'n I were born a man..I would make one hell of a brother Im think'n..but I'll settle for being his sister! works for me!..course Ive been told that Im half the man some will never be and all the women you'll never have! hahaha gotcha!

No Sharon could not be his brother...she's a female.
She can be his 'sister'.....He can be her brother.
Last I checked...brothers were males.
Brotherhood = male
Sisterhood = female
Funny how that works isn't it?

Imo a brotherhood is a group of Males who share a common bond.
That hang together; fellowship & socialize.
Would do whatever necessary to protect and care for another brother.

I personally reserve that word for guys I'm close with--that is, our friendship has developed into a relationship more closely akin to that of brothers by blood (of the same mother).  I don't have any biological brothers. 

I do, however, have three 'brothers.'  Included are a couple of guys I served with--we chewed up some tough ground together at one time.  Another is a guy I ride with and have chewed up a bunch of miles with over the past twenty years.  Basically, a working definition for me is:  these are the guys with whom I'd trust my daughter's well-being and life.  Hence, the list is short to the extreme.

Other than that, I simply refer to everyone else with whom I associate as friends or acquaintances.  Or, 'guys I know.'

As far as 'sisters,' same-same as above.  Short list but I would do anything for them and they me.

As far as the whole 'biker definition' or concept of 'brothers'--I really don't use the word in that sense--that is, I don't call other riders 'brother' simply because they ride.  

I think the word 'brother' has a definite meaning within certain groups and I wouldn't ever presume to know how any group defines the word or uses it.  I simply don't know their criteria.  And, siince I'm not a part of any club, to avoid offense I simply don't address anybody as such.  A simple 'yes/no sir' typically suffices in these cases.

This is just MY opinion here but I think many will agree.

Being a member of two of the best brotherhoods ever to grace this Earth, the United States Military and AOA, I see one common thing everyone is missing. And no offense ladies, and fmike, but a dictionary wont get you there. Not even close. Whoever wrote those definations was never part of a brotherhood so how would they know!!! 

Brotherhood is having the pleasure of putting your own life in your brothers hands KNOWING he will protect you to a further extent than he will protect himself. He will die to further your goal! And you will gladly do the same for him. You not only share common interists but the same ultimate goal to the end. You will know what your brother is about to do before he does it, and the same from him to you. You will lay sacrifice upon yourself and your family to aid your brothers demises. His family will lay the same sacrifice for you because you are BROTHERS!

If you have never entertained the thought of laying down your life for a brother, what you have is friendships, NOT brotherhood!! And unless you are a brother, you will never hear me say it to you!!! I hold the term dear to my heart and really hate seeing it tossed around flagrently. But to each their own. Just dont call me brother unless you are one!!
