THIS SITE GETS SUPER-SLOW

I'd like comments from others who've experienced what I have here, with the way pages load ... or don't load.

Too often pages here load slower than snail snot.  Pages often seem like they're not going to open at all ... and sometimes they don't open.  Other times, the whole site freezes and nothing works, so I just close out this site and come back later.  When pages have been really slow to open here (you can see the progress bar creeping up, very slowly), I'll open another browser window and go to other sites, navigate links ... and everthing everywhere else is working just fine (and fast) ... but not here.  I can have 15 other browsers open ... all working fast ... and this one will be slow or frozen.  This has me thinking it's the host servers here (maybe can't handle the traffic (?) ... or a script glitch, or something conflicting.

If you have or have not experienced what I've described ... please comment ... because Tony needs to know how things are or are not working here.

  Tank You!!

John

It is more than likely a priority issue within the server. I was seeing it during peak times so I now use a High priority script when requesting a new page.

Servers assign a priority to each page request. But they are limited to how many high prioritiy requests they an handle at a givin time, and once full, assign either a normal or low priority to them. For those unable to prescript page requests, the easiest solution would be to cancil your page request and either selet a different page or even the same page in hopes of getting a higher priority parameter on your new request.

John, thanks for posting this.  I notice the same thing, but I never know if it's the site or my own rig here at home.  At times, it could be the server, something with the coding of the site, Internet Explorer issues, or something to do with our own internet providers.  I suspect there is something in the site that is creating slow loading pages.  I have also seen that the photos or the photo albums load very slow.  I have asked the developer of that feature to take a look.  Thank you for commenting.  Please keep sharing any problems you experience with the site.  It helps to be as specific as possible so we can narrow down where or when the problems happen.  Thanks.

I use Firefox instead of Explorer. I got a real nasty virus using Explorer and Firefox has a better firewall. That said, I still have some of the similar issues. Forget looking at photos. S  L  O  W . . . . I also noticed that during peak times, it is very, very slow.
