As a Medical Officer with the AZ Dept of Corrections, I work with the abusers every day. The worst part about it is that from my point of view most abusers do not want to change, they were abused and somehow retain the feelings that abuse is normal behavior,and the cycle cannot be broken. In prison child abusers were the lowest level in the food chain, and years ago they kept their crimes quiet but times have changed, they gang-up and in Arizona under our ultraliberal social worker director (the governors college roomie), they are allowed to control and run the yards. The Officers have been rendered helpless by foolish policies. Aside from not having access to kids they seem to like prison better than the outside. Free room and board, no reaponsability,free medical, so why change. They get out and they come right back. I do not see any changes comming in the future, as long as the liberal social workers and lawyers keep helping them out (another freeby). All we can do is support and try to protect the victims, and don't let them send kids back to abusive homes. Maybe try hanging a few liberal abuser supporters might work, I don't know.
