Since this is a motorcycle site I might as well share some of my knowledge on group riding......
Below are some guidelines on riding safe in a group.
Respect to the officers of San Diego HOG
A lot of my time is spent riding. I ride alone, in small packs, or in groups. Some of these groups can be as large as 50+ riders.
Sure it is less maintenance riding alone but eventually you will need to ride in a group formation.
When I rode in groups in my in my 20's & 30's it was pretty much organized chaos but wtf we had fun.
When riding in a group you are not only responsible for you and your passenger's safety but the safety of all the riders in your group.
When rolling all formation should be staggered.
Approaching a stop be sure the other rider knows you are there before you run side by side.
When running on a highway keep a 2 - 3 second rule in your formation. The rule here is to keep a tight formation.
Picture yourself as a one large vehicle with every rider forming a part of that vehicle.
Obvoiusly some jackweed will probably still feel the need to break the pack.
Its ok, let them off with a ---------
The important thing to remember is a multi ton car or truck will win.
Keep the tranny bearings in your jacket for when you really need them.
see you all on the road
