THIS IS THE NEWS I GOT FROM DOMINO ON THE PROGRESS OF HER OLE MAN FROM HIS ACCIDENT
Hey Kat, Dan "Hoppy" was off the vent more than 6 1/2 hours yesterday, with his O2 sat steady above 90 which is awesome off the ventilator. The trach is still in place, providing some oxygen, but he is breathing on his own, for the most part, more each day. He is hooked back to the vent during the night to give him a break.
He looks good and is getting his attitude back which I know is what has helped get him this far! He is wanting steak and potatoes! The feeding tube just ain't cuttin it for my biker man, lol. Still a ways to go with the physical therapy (he is working hard and they are sure putting him through the routine!)
There are a bit of 'mind tricks' to overcome which is to be expected at this point, but he has truly come so far! Thanks for your continued thoughts & prayers, everybody, and to you, Wolfie, for keeping everyone posted. I'll try to get back on line soon and answer some emails but til then I'm sending everyone my gratitude, love & respect!
