I agree with HDW Flat tax the only way to go -- no deductions -- Say a flat 15% -- for everyone and ya know that would save a lot of money just in mail , for all those tax returns.

What is wrong with this picture. I make a good living and earned every penny of it. Me and my family have got used to this life style. WE worked hard, went to school, got good grades, went to a good college. Then we hit the pavement and got a good job. Worked our tales off to make a good living to improve our lives and the lives of our children. We set aside money so that they could go to college and earn a good livelyhood for themselves as well. But along comes the government and says no, we should give half our money to those that dont want to go to school, dont want to go to college, and dont really want to work. But they are having a hard time of it so give them half your money so they can live like you do. You will have to make do with less.

Yes, there is a lot of things wrong with this picture. To start, too much government intrusion. Second, people are a part of nature and in true nature, only the strong survive. If the weaker ones cant keep up, fail to learn to hunt for food, fail to stand for the pack, they do not survive. Culling the heard is necessary to keep the heard strong. The meek will not inhearit the earth, they become tomorrows dinner! That is just how life is on this planet.

What separates human beings from the animals is we dont cull our heard. We help the less fortunate. (More than we should to a point our species has become weaker) I have no problem with helping the less fortunate. But only to a point. I will help you get an education so you can go out and earn a good living. But I refuse to just GIVE you what I worked hard for so you can sit on your butt and do nothing. What you are looking for is a socialists system. That is fine with me, go find one. Go live under it and see how you like it. I hear the weather is good in Cuba, oh wait, you like cooler tempatures. Ok, try China. But see, there are problems with the socialists systems as well. You can pay everyone the same amount of money no matter what work or amount of work they do. But they do not manage their money the same and classes of people evolve within the system just as it does in a capitolists system. But in a socialists system the government says you got the same amount of money, you get no help.

The flat tax system is as fair as it gets. You make x amount of money, you pay a tax on it. That is fair. You make less, you pay less. If you want to be wealthy, go earn more! But you have to EARN it. What you want is a free handout without earning anything. What is wrong with this picture?
