The Taxes We Pay.... And Other Things
Posted On 10/24/08 @ 12:37 am by PeacefulAcresRider

Ok..... We're spending 10 Billion a month in Iraq. When in fact we can use that money else where, health care fer 1, but sum of the other things they're sayin', fixing our highways & buildin' new bridges w- sum of that 10 Billion?
Wait... wait.... wait a sec.... isn't that why we're payin' 80 cents or so on a gallon, wasn't the tax on every gallon we buy at the pump fer that sole purpose to build New highways & bridges or repair the 1's we have?

Why are we only closing our borders to Mexicans, while we're being flooded by Puerto Ricans who live on our tax dollars, they git Free housing, Food stamps, Free medical & the retiree's get SSI, but yet, they never werked a day in their life in the U.S.?

More to come..... feel Free To Throw Yer 2 cents worth of Bitchin' in

There's a boatload of things we could doing with the money spent on the unnecessary, illegal, immoral Iraq war.  We're so deep in debt that our grandkid's grandkid's grandkids will still be strapped with it.  We owe $500 Billion to China ......     fffHey, we're the wealthiest country in the world.  Well ... we used to be, before 8 years of Bush administration.  The money is huge, but the unnecessary loss of life, permanent physical and emotional injury is immeasurable.

I don't know what benefits can be received by undocumented people.  Maybe food stamps and county health care.  Who's getting "free housing"???  And when you say "retirees" .... doesn't that mean that somone did work???  But you said, "never worked a day".

To qualify for SSI, a person must be 65 or older ... OR disabled, blind, etc.  I think you've got to be a citizen, or be a non-citizen who has served in the U.S. military ...  There may be ways for non-citizens to get SSI, but I don't think they're easy.

When I went back home (to the east coast) this past summer, I got to meet & talk to sort of the man of the house who could barely speak english, his family has been renting my old home fer the past yr fer $600 a month. He told me they were both retirees from Puerto Rico, an that between he & his wife were getting SSI & almost 2,500 a month between 'em both. He went on to say w-a smile, that neither werked a day of their lives in the U.S..

When I looked across the street, there was 3 families from puerto rico renting 1 - 1/2 a double home, thats 6 adults & 13 kids in a 10 room house. While the men werked & all drove a new car, truck & mini-van. They get food stamps, their housing paid & got medical benefits from the county & state.

Ok, why is puerto rico allowed to vote in the primary, but not the general elections? Do you know why the Gov't wants to make puerto rico a State?
An do you know why puerto ricans don't want puerto rico to become a state? They don't want to have to pay TAXES!!!
