KILLING YOURSELF OVER DEBT
Posted On 10/06/08 @ 08:02 pm by gr8pop
Ah ... who cares about these sad folks???  The important thing to do is provide a bailout for the Wall Street firms, banks and others who got rich selling financial products that were toxic.  Don't they deserve a break?

It's so sad.  The actions taken by the old woman, or the man who killed himself and his family seem so unnecessary ... but desperate people do desperate things.  Insecurity and fear of what may be in store can create hopelessness.  Not everyone has family, and not everyone is connected to a community.  I like to think that mankind, by his nature, would always want to help his fellow man, but pride often disables us from reaching out if we're in need.  Once we slip into that idea that we're failures, then there goes any self-worth ... and (maybe) taking a life with little worth isn't such a tough concept to rationalize.  I'm talkin' a load, I know ... but the fact is that there are support groups for just about everything these days, and maybe we should be more aware of the possibilities that our relatives or neighbors may be in pain, or struggling and in need of support.  At this moment, millions of Americans are caught in a tough spot.  When I think of $700 Billion to bail out these institutions, I can't help but think that that much money could easily save some decent folks from losing their homes ... and some useful projects certainly could be started that could put lots of folks back to work.

Tony, you reveal some characteristics about yourself in your comment ... connections, integration, community, stability.  One thing is that you sound like a business pro.  Also, it reflects on some of the basis of your BFH website.

Meanwhile, I think we'll be seeing things get worse before they begin to get better.  I can be optimistic ... but I'm saving it for when the Democrats come into power.
