I was out for a ride last weekend around Pyramid Lake. As I was cruising around the lake towards Nixon, a big long snake was crossing the road in front of me. This guy was probably about 8 feet long and had most of his body in my lane, I didn't want to run over him! He was headed off the road so I looked and seeing that nothing was coming towards me in the other lane, I simply changed lanes to continue on past him. About that time the stupid snake decides to start back the other way, there was no time to stop before reaching him so I did the only prudent thing I could think of...I rolled the throttle and shot in front of him at about 90 mph before he could get in front of me. I barely missed the snake but of course about then my mind started playing tricks on me. My pant legs whipping against my leg suddenly felt like a snake hanging off of it...you know how it goes. I had the willies for about the next five miles before I could shake off the snake feeling. Maybe he just wanted a ride on my Harley...who could blame him...sorry pal, I don't pick up hitchhikers, unless of course they look good in a short skirt and tank top.
