I like big butts and I can not lie...,
Sorry.. couldn't help it. Seemed to fit. But really I love Hot Rods, Motorcycles, Music, Reading, Writing, and Nursing.

J F Talon

Drama, sorry to say especially female drama.

I can not stand Posers that play dress up and try to act like they belong in my world.

Bullshit artists.

I used to do a little community service down at the Faith Cafe' soup kitchen, mainly serving meals and cleaning up. Has not been much time this year for this but I have begun making time to do it here and there. I like to go to really strange or eclectic places to eat mainly for the experience.

I used to own a restaurant so I am a fairly good cook, nothing fancy but pretty darn good. I love to cozy into a couch for a good movie or go to see one out on rare occasions. I am spending a lot of my lonelier hours these days listening to live music at local clubs and consuming my fair share of Scotch.I am an avid reader of mainly classic and science fiction and technical books. I like to travel, especially adventures that require a challenge or are out of the ordinary. I am an Uber geek with computers and the Internet and also do database and web site architecture.

They're all pretty much the same. Not really into doing much except see them for the entertainment of the moment. I prefer the Pixar & animated fun movies and really adore the more Gothic style ones like Underworld and Matrix series. Given a choice to spend cash on it would be SciFi or Animated. I gravitate to these styles mainly because I already know how most stories on the silver screen are going to end. So do you of course, love always triumphs in romance flicks, the hero saves the day in the action adventure, and the last chick and dude are the only survivors out of 200 in the slasher movies... and the evil murderer gets away to keep sequel writers busy. The animated stuff always makes me laugh and I never get enough giggles to say when. The SciFi, well anything can happen and there is no reasonable use of facts and issues required so the giant 300 foot tall slimy alien bad guy could really be the embodiment of Gandhi with a bad attitude and a box of sandwiches now can't it.

Christ, I could go on here forever. I love reading and writing. Given the choice I love the older classics as they generally have shaped my current writing and speaking style. I grew up on old Ellery Queen and H. P. Lovecraft mysteries. My rather dark and Gothic persona has been shaped by many hundreds of hours reading Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare. I am a little quirky in that I really love the romantic eloquence of Shakespeare with all his complexities of structure and meanings wrapped in those symbolic statements that always need to be deciphered and applied to his works before you have any clue what the hell he just said. It's like a video game with words. For snuggling into a warm bed with a long sleepless night of reading I mostly prefer hard Science Fiction like Issac Asimov, Arther C. Clark, or the likes of Ray Bradbury.

Some of my favorite classics are;

The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton
The Moon Pool by A. Merritt
Islands in the Sky and Rendezvous with Rama by
Arthur C. Clarke
City by Clifford D. Simak
Fantastic Voyage by Isaac Asimov

Wow, this is going to leave a mark. OK here goes;
Martin Luther King
Edna Gladney
Barach Spinozza
John Walsh
Eleanor Roosevelt
Albert Einstein
Dr. Patch Adams
Nikola Tesla
Stephen Hawking
Edgar Allen Poe
Jules Verne
Ray Bradbury
John Glenn
Jim Henson
Walt Disney
Henry Ford
Millard & Linda Fuller
Jacques Cousteau
Ryan Hreljac
Bernard Kouchner
Ann Armstrong-Dailey
Karla Diane Hurrell
Mother Teresa
Zora Arkov Duntov

Just to name a few...

JFTalon has 2 Groups.

Name it! Rock, Alternative, Industrial, Metal, Thrash Metal, some Death Rock, Country (sometimes), Hip Hop (rarely but Ne Yo & Flo-rida are pretty cool). I prefer Rock and Alternative Rock above most types. Currently nurturing a love affair with the likes of: Evanescence, Stone Sour, Disturbed, REO Speedwagon, Rehab, 212 Degrees, Riptide, Staind, Duffy, Chris Daughtry, Aerosmith, AC/DC.

I'm a first generation Italian American from upstate New York. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Spent 5 years in the USAF. After decades fixing failing businesses across the US I left New Jersey and migrated to Florida where I built several businesses of my own, (a Curves for Woman, a computer company Systems Anywhere, and a restaurant & bar in Ybor City called The Stardust, that catered to the Goth, Rock, & alternate lifestyles). It took a lot of living and getting screwed over by a slow 10 year death of a 30 year marriage to realize that none of it was worth a shit. So, 5 years back I sold them all to satisfy a nasty divorce and went back to school to become an LPN. Now, I do work with St. Judes Hospital, and a group called "Bikers Against Child Abuse", and the elderly & homeless when I can down at the Faith Cafe soup kitchen. I hope over the next few years to acquire the needed licenses to start a new business of an Adult Day Care Center in the St. Petersburg area. I have 2 grown daughters, Clarissa an Architect & Erin, a Doctor. I live a single life and I take serious the feelings of other people, especially children and the elderly. I'm a bit of an extremist where issues of human dignity and prejudices are concerned. I build custom cars and coaches as a lifelong hobby and semi-professional business. I have ridden a motorcycle non-stop since I was 14. I am a lifelong student. I am also spending a small portion of my leisure time these days to slooooowly learn to play an electric guitar. I am really not interested in being a player in a dating world. Just looking for friends. I really have a strong disgust for any woman who thinks she is a "princess" or should be placed on a pedestal by a man. Self centered woman who think their shit is ice cream have got to be the biggest turn off there is. Trust, equality in treatment and intelligence and friendship are always a good start. Of course I have been trying that approach for years and just seem to keep getting crapped on. Oh well, they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Guess I'm nuts.

Well, you asked didn't you.

THE MAGIC OF A FACE.....

Photobucket

Mens' minds are as variant as their faces.
George Washington

Photobucket

Easy to know mens' faces, not their hearts.
Chinese Proverb

Most of the time, the faces that we face
are not the other guy’s, but our own faces.
And it is the worst kind of yellowness
to be so scared of yourself, that you put blindfolds on
rather than deal with yourself.
To face ourselves—that’s the hard thing.
The imagination, that’s God’s gift,
to make the act of self-examination, bearable.

Hello JF. Perusing through some profile Pages of folks who were unfamiliar to me and came across yours. Interesting read on the Page. And yes, I have taken the time to read it all in it's entirety too...You are definitely East Coast.. Blunt, In-Your-Face, Direct and to the Point! Think that just about covers all bases for saying the same thing using different words. lol I don't mean any disrespect or meaning that comment as a slam. I respect a person, any person who is straightforward and does not mince their words. Right or wrong... at least you always know where you stand with them. I am a West Coast version of you in that aspect and subscribe to that school of thought. Probably why I am certainly not everyone's cup of tea... but that is absolutely okay...
Anyhow, at the risk of penning the next Best Selling Novel here in your comment box, I'll close. I just did not want to hit and run without stopping to say hello and wanted to introduce myself within the confines of this format here... My Mama taught me some manners. Some of 'em took too... Take care and have a wonderful weekend...

Friday...Finally!

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright), sun shiny day
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright), sun shiny day

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright), sun shiny day

Hoping your day is bright and shiny too!!!

I asked a very wise old man to list his lessons on life..

Photobucket

He Said....

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick.
Your friends and parents will.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument.
Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing
than crying alone.
8. It's okay to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the
present.
12. It's okay to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what
their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be
in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye.
But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath, it calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful
or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the
second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in
life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy
lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today
is special.
22. Over prepare then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you!
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words,
"in five years, will this matter?"
27. Always choose life!!!
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of YOUR business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time, time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so serioously, no one else does.
33. Believe in Miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of
anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life, show up, and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative--dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved!!!
39. Get outside everyday-miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone
else's we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come!!!
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift!!!

REMEMBER, I WILL ALWAYS SHARE MY SPOON WITH YOU !!!!
Friends are the family we choose for ourselves.

Merry Christmas to all----from Sam13
